    Description

A very nice gown in it's day, this dress has a blush pink ribbed silk base, with wool felt trim, silk tassels, and an intricate bodice yoke, with French knots, pastes, "pearls", eyelet motifs connected with brides, or narrow connecting threads, and a silk knotted band, also with it's own connecting brides.
There is also a "pearl" rosette and two silk tassels at each sleeve.
I particularly like the 3-lobed design, outlined with a rope type trim, containing French knots and pastes. There are seven total of these, four of these in back, 3 in front.
The ribbed silk fabric is in poor shape, as you can see. The lining to the skirt, a silk tafetta, is also splitting.
The chiffon underneath the yoke looks to be in fairly good condition, most likely because it was protected by a layer of net.
The bodice is lined with cotton, and boned. It fastens at the back, going up the side to the neck, in a complicated arrangement of hooks and eyes. The cotton lining is in good condition.
The skirt has looped designs in the same felted pink wool at the front, going along the hem in the back, these with tiny crochet centers.
The panels at the side and top of the back are in a pink shade, more closely matching the bodice, though a little darker. The center panel in front, and most of the panel in back, are a beige shade. The pinker sections seem to have been sewn over the original beige panels. The added pink panels are of period material, and seem to have been done a while ago.
The trim is in very good condition. The rosette at the bottom center of the bodice has some loose pearls, some of the smaller ones look to have some discoloration.
The similar rosette in back also has some loose pearls in the center, some discoloration to the tiny pearls surrounding it.
The yoke area might have a 2 or 3 loose pearls or other small pieces.
The wool felt criss-cross design in front, right below the yoke, with 4 tassels, has some holes, there might be two or three other places with a hole in the wool tapes. The majority of it is in good condition.
The silk backing the criss-cross wool designs, including at the front and back, and at the pouffed wrist area, along with the tabs going over the shoulders,  seems to be in good condition, probably because it was not stressed by wearing, as the skirt and bodice itself.
There is some splitting and weakness to the silk beneath the wool designs on the skirt, and at the sleeves, and the cuffs.
The waist measures about 28", bust 36".
    1902-1905.
