beautiful Edwardian era suit ensemble, featuring a net lace jacket & an elegant silk skirt that displays a small but elegant train in the back. Dates to the 1910s; recently deaccessioned from a fabulous local museum collection. Skillfully crafted from soft 100% silk crepe de chine fabric, and fine cotton tulle that has been lavishly embroidered in an eye-catching pattern of spirals. Photographed here over a slightly later (c.1930s) silk slip that's not included in the listing. The skirt is in overall good condition for its age, with the only flaw being a faint hint of gentle wear & a couple of teeny, barely visible age dots (these might come out with a longer soaking). The jacket is in fair to good condition, with the only flaws a variety of small repairs to the tulle and a small bit of raveling here & there to the silk embroidery. The set will best fit women's sizes small to medium. Measurements are as follow: JACKET- Bust: Approx. 35" Back length (Shoulder to hem):34" Yoke (seam to seam across shoulder-blades): 13 1/2" Sleeve (Shoulder seam to cuff): 24" Waist: 31" Hip: 41" Skirt- Waist: 26 1/4" Hip: 48" Length: 37" front/ 49" back (train) Very carefully hand-laundered with eco-safe soap, the ensemble is clean, fresh, and ready to wear or display. Dates to the 1910s; recently deaccessioned from a fabulous local museum collection. I strive for the greatest accuracy in all of my listings. I double-check each and every measurement -especially when dealing with vintage clothing or artwork- and post only photos in which the colors appear just as they do in real life.
Rest assured all items are guaranteed to be exactly as I have pictured and described them.
Vintage clothing sizes often differ markedly from contemporary clothing sizes. (i.e., a 1930s "Large" may be closer to a modern Small or Medium. To that end, I require that bidders purchasing vintage clothing must accurately know their correct clothing measurements in standard US measurement sizes.
At my discretion, a refund in full or part may be granted if I have inadvertently made a highly significant error in the item description and/ or photos.
