~*SUPER RARE GUNNE SAX HIPPIE PRINCESS MAXI BELL SLEEVED DRESS with WOVEN APPLES TRIM Sz L~*DESCRIPTION: This is an example of the super rare "Apples" Gunne Sax dress. A true collector's piece, I've only ever seen two of them and have been collecting for 25 years! The fabric is a wonderful "crepe" type with a soft hand and drape in cream. The trims were sourced from Germany and are a high quality woven type you would not be able to get today very easily... the design, I believe is apples. Sure, it could be a huge cherry, but I don't think so. I love the center medallion - the waist ties are sewn underneath it and you gather them around to the back to shape the dress. This cut is quite loose and I can't be sure because the size tag is missing but this must surely be a size 13. Bust will fit up to 38 inches and waist and hips are free - like up to 40 and 52 inches, respectively. It will probably be great for anyone up to 38 inch bust, 32 inch waist and around 42 inch hips or maybe just a tad more in the hip area. Please note: overall length is 54 inches. This is about 3-4 inches shorter than the average Gunne Sax dress. The only flaw is one small, faint spot on the left sleeve near-ish the shoulder cap. It will probably wash out but it isn't particularly detracting as it is. There is no back zip entry on this dress - because of the generous cut, you simply pull it over your head. It's very easy to put on and take off. ❤️ Don't miss out on this rarity! It wont come around soon again.
Welcome to the Turtle Bay Trading Post! Here you will find an assortment of handmade artisan jewelry (usually incorporating vintage and antique buttons!) actual vintage and antique jewelry and vintage clothing and accessories from the 1890s to the 1980s. I've taken a long break from selling on eBay due to health issues and also pursuing other work, but now I'm back! Bear with me as I relearn everything from the bottom up - things change so often in this forum it can make your head spin! Wish our "bosses" knew change doesn't always equal improvement! Well, we can live in hope. *Oh, and I want to mention those hideously tacky advertisement campaigns that our listing pages are plastered with. Does anyone out there actually believe that this could be effective in any way? It's distracting, and looks horrible. It detracts from the value of our work. There. I've said it.
