Vintage 1940s Black Velvet Maxi Dress Gown.
Stunning black velvet gown from Charmode in a nice larger size. Bias cut skirt. Shirring at sleeves and waist. Side zipper at waist. Zipper works great. Belt loops but no belt.
Beautiful sequin detail at the neckline. The sequins are attached to netting and the netting is a bit loose on one side and will need tacked down. I’m note sure if it’s missing sequins on one side or if it was meant to have an asymmetrical look! Priced accordingly. So gorgeous, still! Velvet is NOT crushed on the skirt in the first photo, it’s just the lighting making it appear so. In good vintage condition. Waist: 17 inches across front
Hips: 20 inches across front
Shoulders: 15 inches across top
Sleeve length: 4 inches from underarm to hem, 11 inches from shoulder seam to hem
Dress Length: 60 inches from shoulder to hem
Dress displayed on a 33” bust mannequin. Pinned to fit.

Very good: One or two very minor flaws! Looks great! Can be worn!
Good: Some flaws throughout commensurate with age. Very small holes, light fading, light stains, etc. Can be worn with care.
Fair: Will have many flaws including but not limited to-- larger holes, stains, visible repairs. May need repairs in order for item to be wearable.
Poor: For pattern or study only. Not wearable.
My home is a smoke-free, pet friendly home with dogs and cats. I don’t know the history of most items I sell, but if I notice strong smoke or mildew odors, I will mention it in the condition notes. A stray piece of fur may end up on anything you buy from me even though I do my best to keep my animals away from my sale items.
